Creating a humane world

We can be so deeply immersed in our thoughts that we don’t realize that beyond those thoughts there is something else, a mild source of wisdom. We are so estranged from it that we do not even realize any more that this source exists. Sometimes during a quiet moment, when our thoughts have fallen quiet for a short while, some of the wisdom is able to seep through into our conscious mind. The

clarity of that intuition can take us by surprise. However our thought machinery immediately starts up again and before we know it that shred of inspiration becomes contaminated or is even pushed aside completely. Once again cut off from the spring of wisdom, which is present in each of us, we live on in our world of thoughts and like the blind we fumble for happiness, believing that we need to look for it outside ourselves.

However the outside world where we search for happiness is no more than a product and mirror

image of our illusionary thoughts. The happiness that we strife for turns out to be an illusion,

promising commodities only enlarge our greed, even our partner does not give us what we hoped for. These disappointments lead to bitterness and indifference.

Yet that source of wisdom buried deeply within does not allow itself be extinguished, in the scarce

moments of emotion, rapture or genuine moments of quiet comes the sound of a distinct voice, our own, wishing to create an authentic world.

The world which we genuinely want is one where happiness is not something for ‘later’. Happiness is here at all times if only we let ourselves be led by our personal wisdom or even by our pain. The world we really want is a merciful world in which self interest plays no more part. There is no need to search for the world we truly wish for, it is here, always and everywhere. We hold that world in our hands, it is the world around us, containing everybody and everything that our heart longs for, our dear ones far and near.
